I began my career in International Markets & Investments at the State Bank of Pakistan, where I spent almost four years working with sovereign reserve portfolios. The period covered the pandemic recovery, the global inflation shock and the monetary-tightening cycle that followed, bringing questions of liquidity, risk and portfolio positioning into everyday investment decisions.

I later moved to Germany to complete the Master of Finance in Capital Markets at Frankfurt School. Alongside the degree, I worked at Allianz Investment Management—first in Investment Analytics & ESG and later in Private Markets. These roles gave me a different view of institutional investing, from insurance-portfolio analytics to the monitoring and analysis of private-market funds and co-investments.

Across these settings, I became increasingly interested in how data and quantitative methods can improve investment decisions—where they add value, where they fall short and where judgement still matters.

Outside finance, I like hiking and exploring new places. One of my favourite trips was to Nanga Parbat Base Camp; others have taken me to Chitta Katha Lake, the Haramosh Valley and historical sites such as Mohenjo-daro and Makli. I also enjoy walking around unfamiliar towns and learning about their history and culture.

I play squash, follow cricket and Formula 1, and read widely about history, geopolitics and technology.
